There can be a few things that can cause this issue in this knowledge article we will be looking at what may potentially cause these problems. Does your lawn often look like the image below?
Lawnmowers can sometimes not collect the grass as efficiently as it should. This can cause by long grass, wet grass, grass box becoming too full & many more.
Below we will go through the most common ones and explain ways to prevent this.
1) Long grass can lead the chute and grass box becoming clogged. This will then cause the grass not to collect properly. So some suggestions to resolve this problem. Try not to remove as much grass in one go, raise the height of cut so you are not taking as much grass off in one go. Alternatively if your lawnmower has a side discharge facility use the side discharge function to throw the grass out of the side. You can either rake the grass clippings up or go over them again with the lawnmower.
2) Wet grass is a problem that most gardeners come across at some point or another when doing their gardens. Wet grass weighs more therefore potentially leading to clogged grass chutes and reducing the airflow allowing the grass to be thrown into the grass box.
3) Grass box becoming full, this sounds a simple one but you would be surprised how often this happens. If the grass box is too full it will simply not collect. So we recommend emptying it frequently to prevent this problem. As if it is too full the clippings will just drop on the floor.
